Long ago, in 2005, I spent a few months in Vietnam roaming around the country. At some point, as I was planning a trip from Ho Chi Minh, to Dalat, and then to Nha Trang, I had a serious accident in Dalat and opened my chin, so made it back to Ho Chi Minh to get medical treatment, which prevented me from eventually reaching Nha Trang. I have a big scar on my chin until today, a constant reminder me that accident, and having never reached Nha Trang.
It took 18 years for me to be able to finally find my way to Nha Trang. In December 2023 I needed an escape and there were decent flights from Hong Kong, and so I took some time to linger. I stayed on the coast line, and got to explore the city a bit. It was somehow very different than how I imagined it. The coastline was a lot quieter than I thought, and the city was more developed than I imagined it. I explored a bit of the local sites, but didn’t venture out from Nha Trang much to some of the regional attractions, so it was all very laid back. The beaches weren’t anything special, just a fairly affordable decent beach-side city. There are quite a few food and bar options, and there are some hotels on the coast with fantastic views.
Here is a bit from my visions of travel impressions of Nha Trang Vietnam…
