Immersive shows are popping up everywhere, and I’ve been to quite a few of those in recent years. Managed to catch TeamLab in atleast 6 different locations, the most memorable of which was in Osaka, Japan, in 2023, out in gardens surrounding a lake, and in Tokyo, in 2024, with water and plants. Dubai also likes to impress and put on a show, and so in one of my recent visits to Dubai, in the very large Wafi shopping mall near the wonderful Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk hotel, they had Aya, so I went in to have a look.
It did not disappoint. Several immersive rooms, 360 videos, funky space and designs, from walls to chairs, sounds and movement interactive, even dancers and actors. Everyone, especially kids, seemed to play with the exhibits and enjoy themselves. Can easily spend a couple of hours going through the whole thing, and every room offers a nice new surprise.
Highly recommend it.
